CENTRALISTAN
Centralistan is an ongoing photographic work tracing nomadism across Greater Central Asia, including Mongolia. Rather than treating it as a symbol of freedom or disappearance, the work approaches it as a practical reality: a system of seasonal movement shaped by necessity.
Across the steppe, mountains, and tundra, the photographs stay close to the everyday details of migratory life: animals, shelter, family, and work. Sepia gives the images a sense of timelessness, while colour brings life in the present into focus. What comes together is a pattern of adaptation while remaining connected to the past, tradition as something lived and adjusted every day.
